Il Romanista, a Rome-based daily newspaper dedicated to the only team of the city, AS Roma, sadly ceased publication today.

Dopo una lunga malattia, che si è protratta negli ultimi anni e ci ha devastato, questo “Romanista”, edito da una cooperativa messa in liquidazione coatta per decreto, muore. Domani non sarà in edicola. Non siamo particolarmente tristi, come non lo è chi ha visto smettere di soffrire un parente pur amato ma ridotto a pallidissimo ricordo di ciò che era stato, e non era già più da tempo.
Il Romanista has always been a great paper to pick up in Rome and get your fill of daily news of AS Roma, and over the years there have been some memorable covers of the daily. Many have featured classic photos and layouts which captured iconic moments in Roma’s recent history. Here are a selection of some of my favourites.
