Il Re di Roma as you’ve never seen him before. The Saviour of Rome is a painting by Liam Proniewicz to celebrate Francesco Totti’s glorious and heroic career at AS Roma. Having spent 25 seasons (and counting) at Rome’s leading club, Totti continues to do the business for his legion of adoring fans.
Liam Proniewicz, a designer and art director from London, was commissioned to paint this wonderful piece. As Liam explains:
“The brief was to capture Totti’s love for Rome and undeniable heroism whilst portraying him as a legend to the point of divinity. By painting him as a winged God of the arena, I portray Totti as an immortal in football and in the hearts of all AS Roma supporters.”
Painted in a Renaissance fresco style, Liam manages to perfectly capture the heroic nature of Totti along with the essence of Rome. Il Capitano would be proud.
